Measure your window and select width and length that you would like to cover. --Valances typically cover 1/3 of the top of your window - choose either 10 and 18 inches in height. --For width - measure past any window trim. Typically, valance should fall on the outside of the window. 2. Choose fabric from swatch table and select using drop-down menu. 3. Choose fabric binding for edges (see below) and select using drop-down menu. 4. Enter Depth or Clearance. --This is the amount of space you will need away from the wall. (3 inches is standard.) For example 3" depth may be needed so the valance fits over wood trim around the window. Where as, 1 1/2 inches depth is applicable for a window that has no wood trim around the window.) Fabric Binding Choices: Choose between 1" or 2" fabrics. Example pattern in photo on roman shade: Serengeti Chestnut with Nougat edge binding. Fabric available for 1'' edge binding.
