Measuring Terms:

Order "S" - the standard rod width when placing your order.
Keep in mind "TT"  (tip to tip) width - will be your final width, with finials.
The standard rod width is needed to accomodate your curtain panels.
The tip to tip width is needed to make sure your finials are not running into other objects, such as walls, other windows, doors, artwork, etc.  So, make sure to measure for the tip to tip width, for your own personal reference (we need the rod width only.)

Finial Specifications:  (this is the width of each finial - add this to your rod width for your final "tip to tip" width").  For reference only.
