To the 1/8 of an inch is only necessary if you are working in tight spaces.  If you do not have any obstructions or space restrictions, you can order in whole inches.  When measuring for your curtain rod, the standard is to go 2-4 inches past your window trim on each side, depending on how far you would like your curtains to stack off of the window.Measuring Terms: Order "S" - the standard rod width when placing your order. Keep in mind "TT"  (tip to tip) width - will be your final width, with finials. The standard rod width is needed to accomodate your curtain panels. The tip to tip width is needed to make sure your finials are not running into other objects, such as walls, other windows, doors, artwork, etc.  So, make sure to measure for the tip to tip width, for your own personal reference (we need the rod width only.) Finial Specifications:  (this is the width of each finial - add this to your rod width for your final "tip to tip" width").  For reference only. Brackets Information Determine the depth you will need to have your curtains panels hang in front of your window and choose between the standard bracket or the larger sized extension bracket. (see photo below) Each set comes with the following number of brackets based on width. Additional brackets can be ordered for an additional charge. Widths to:               # Brackets: 48”                                   2 72”                                   3 96”                                   4 144”                                 5 192”                                 7 Standard Bracket Size:  6 1/8" depth (see photo below) Extension Bracket Size:   6 1/8" depth  (see photo below) Rods over 96” will come as two pieces. The splice will be at the center of the rod to be concealed and supported by the center bracket.  A double sided screw will be included to splice the rods together.  The hole is pre-drilled for easy installation. If you need the rod to be spliced at specific points, please include in order notes or call us to place your order.  Otherwise, the rod will be spliced in the center if over 96 inches or divided into equal parts if over 192 inches.
